Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (SRIHER) Chennai. was established by Sri Ramachandra Educational and Health Trust in 1985. University Grants Commission (UGC) recognition is given to the SRIHER Chennai. In 1994, the Indian government designated the SRIHER Chennai as a deemed university. SRIHER Chennai has also received grade A++ accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

To follow the application process for enrolment in the BSc course, a student should go through the different requirements; some of them are listed below-
Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Maths, or Computer Science are the subjects in which one should have taken and passed in Class 12.
The candidates should not be more than 17 years old by December 31, 2025, for SRIHER BSc admission.

The topmost package secured by the students in the academic year 2025 at the time of SRIHER placements was INR 50 LPA. It has also been revealed that some of the students have secured international job offers. Thus, the placements of this institute show the development year on year.
Candidates must have passed the HSC examination /equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% aggregate (40% aggregate for SC/ ST/ OBC) taking together Physics, Chemistry and Biology (or Botany & Zoology) and a pass in English. Aspirants have also secured not less than 50% marks (40% marks for SC/ ST/ OBC) in the entrance exam to apply for the MBBS course at Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research.
